On December 1, 2016, Parker Hannifin Corporation and CLARCOR Inc. announced that the companies have entered into a definitive agreement under which Parker will acquire CLARCOR for approximately $4.3 billion in cash, including the assumption of net debt. The transaction has been unanimously approved by the board of directors of each company. Upon closing of the transaction, expected to be completed by or during the first quarter of Parker’s fiscal year 2018, CLARCOR will be combined with Parker’s Filtration Group to form a leading and diverse global filtration business. Emily Burrows advises clients related to technology-based transactions and the management of trademark portfolios. Emily guides companies developing new product lines through the critical step of creating and protecting their trademarks. For technology clients who license their software products, Emily provides guidance on a broad range of intellectual property protection and enforcement issues related to the transactions. As part of her intellectual property practice, Emily works closely with the corporate group on large and middle-market transactions.

Working with businesses from industries including food and beverage, healthcare, retail, media and technology, Emily's intellectual property practice involves:

  • Licensing of intellectual property
  • Trademarks and trademark enforcement
  • Technology-based transactions

Prior to joining the firm, Emily practiced at a firm in Austin, Texas. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lawrence E. Meyers with the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
