We hire law students who demonstrate high academic achievement, participate in law school and extracurricular activities, and show an interest in the community to experience our dynamic and well-rounded summer associate program. Our program is designed to provide you with a realistic picture of life as an associate. Summer associates have the opportunity to participate in the life of the firm, including contributions to pro bono work and engagement with our diversity and inclusion program and affinity groups. The relationships you build and the challenging opportunities you discover over the summer will continue when you begin a legal career with us.
We recruit and maintain a talented and diverse team of attorneys within our offices. Embracing diversity and inclusion strengthens who we are as a firm and enhances the services we can provide to our clients. We have devoted substantial recruitment efforts to attracting and developing industry-leading attorneys who will bring a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences to our team.
In 2024, our Memphis, Nashville and Washington, DC offices will sponsor a summer associate program for first-year and second-year law students. We will offer a full summer ten-week program that is scheduled to run from May 20 through July 26.
If you have any questions about the summer associate program, please contact Katie McDaniel.

Diversity & Inclusion
We recognize diversity is more than a “right now” challenge. Real change requires a long-term commitment. We believe embracing diversity strengthens who we are as a firm and enhances the service we provide to our clients and the communities where we live and work.
Led by this conviction, we are willing to confront challenges that are unique to our firm and within the larger legal industry - and go beyond surface-level methods to create lasting change.
