Katie Smalley works with public and private companies on commercial real estate and debt financing transactions. Katie’s practice includes:

  • Financial Transactions – Representing borrowers and lenders in a variety of real estate and other secured loan transactions, including underlying loan assumption, refinancing, revolving credit lines, CMBS debt modification, and single property loans.
  • Real Estate – Advising clients in the acquisition, financing and disposition of various real estate projects, including multi-family properties, shopping centers, office buildings, industrial buildings, healthcare facilities, and a wide range of agricultural properties.
  • Commercial Leasing – Representing landlords and tenants in drafting and negotiating leases covering a variety of uses in stand-alone and multi-tenant buildings throughout the country, including leases for general office, hospitality and retail space.

Katie also collaborates with the Corporate & Securities and Healthcare Practice Groups on corporate transactions, such as mergers and acquisitions, which involve financing and real estate issues.

Katie earned her law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law and a B.S. in mathematics and French from Centre College.
