Our pro bono team worked with Room In The Inn (RITI) to provide counsel related to all aspects of a complex acquisition of a historic property neighboring RITI’s existing space – including due diligence, contract negotiation, and loan issues. The purchase of this piece of property, critical to the organization’s mission and future development, has preserved an important piece of Nashville history and enabled RITI to create more usable space to provide permanent housing solutions for the homeless population in Middle Tennessee. RITI board member and Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Jeff Gibson noted, “It was a privilege for our firm to play a role in this acquisition, which allows RITI more opportunities to expand its legacy of service to our most vulnerable citizens.”
The Tennessean profiled RITI’s purchase of the historic property in an article published October 29 available here.
Room In The Inn is a nonprofit organization providing long-term support for those who call the streets of Nashville home. This transaction brings RITI closer to reaching its goal of housing for everyone experiencing homelessness.
