Bass, Berry & Sims was honored to be named a winner in two categories at the 18th Annual M&A Advisor Awards on Tuesday, November 19. The firm was named the winner in the following two categories related to the following two transactions:
- Healthcare & Life Sciences Deal of the Year ($100MM-$1B) – Creation of OneOncology by Tennessee Oncology and General Atlantic
The Bass, Berry & Sims team, led by Cindy Reisz, represented Tennessee Oncology in the launch of OneOncology in affiliation with global private equity firm General Atlantic. OneOncology is a community oncology practice management company. General Atlantic invested $200 million in OneOncology, which is designed to help community oncology practices with technology, data, research and innovation by leveraging its scale as OneOncology affiliates with other practices across the United States. Tennessee Oncology’s physicians are also investors. Flatiron Health serves as OneOncology’s technology and data platform.
- Industrials Deal of the Year (Over $1B) – Merger of Engility Holdings, Inc. with Science Applications International Corp.
The Bass, Berry & Sims team, led by Ryan Thomas, represented Engility Holdings (NYSE: EGL) in its merger with Science Applications International Corp. (NYSE: SAIC) in which SAIC acquired Engility in an all-stock transaction valued at $2.5 billion. With two highly complementary portfolios, the transaction creates market sub-segment scale in strategic business areas of national interest, such as defense, federal civilian agencies, intelligence, and space. The combined company ranks as the second largest independent technology integrator in government services.
Earlier this year, The M&A Advisor named Bass, Berry & Sims a finalist in nine different deal categories for advising clients in six separate transactions.
The 18th Annual M&A Advisor Awards Gala honored the professionals whose activities set the standard for M&A transactions. This year, over 200 nominees, representing over 500 companies, became finalists for the awards. An independent judging committee of 28 top M&A industry experts determined the ultimate recipients of the awards. To view a full list of the 18th Annual M&A Advisor Award winners please click here.
