The following four associates counsel clients on corporate and securities issues including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, private equity financings, and securities regulations matters and filings.

  • Dixon Babb (Associate, Nashville) earned a law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law (2020) and a B.S. from the University of Georgia (2016).
  • Nicholas M. Bessette (Associate, Nashville) previously was an associate at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York. Bessette earned a law degree from the University of Michigan Law School (2017) and a B.A from Texas State University (2011).
  • Courtney L. Black (Associate, Nashville) earned a law degree from Washington University School of Law (2020) and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University (2017).
  • Kolby A. Boyd (Associate, Nashville) earned a law degree from Cornell Law School (2020) and a B.S. from Indiana University (2016).

The following two attorneys counsel developers, landlords, tenants, businesses and investors related to commercial real estate and debt financing transactions.

  • Michelle Chatfield (Attorney, Memphis) has more than 20 years of legal experience, most recently managing her own private practice focused on commercial real estate matters for regional businesses. She also served in in-house counsel roles at two publicly traded companies: Equity Inns, Inc. and AutoZone. Chatfield earned a law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law (1994) and a B.S. from the University of Tennessee (1991).
  • Nicole T. Milani (Associate, Memphis) earned a law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law (2020) and a B.A. from Rhodes College (2014).

The following three associates provide healthcare regulatory counsel as it relates to compliance, operational and transactional matters.

  • Zachary J. Baumann (Associate, Nashville) earned a law degree from the University of Houston Law Center (2020) and a B.A. from The University of Texas (2016).
  • Angelique M. Salib (Associate, Washington, D.C.) previously was an associate at Vedder Price P.C. and McDermott Will & Emery LLP in the firms’ Chicago offices. Salib earned a law degree from The University of Chicago Law School where she also earned a Graduate Program in Health Administration and Policy (GPHAP) Certificate (2015) and received a B.A. from Wheaton College (2011).
  • Jacob B. Stansell (Associate, Nashville) earned a law degree from Boston College Law School (2020) and a B.S.B.A. from the University of Arkansas (2017).

The following two associates represent clients on intellectual property transaction matters, including mergers and acquisitions, licensing and service agreements, and strategic relationships.

  • Elizabeth Harwood (Associate, Nashville) earned a law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law (2019) and a B.A. from the University of Tennessee (2015). Prior to joining the firm, Harwood clerked for the Honorable Thomas A. Varlan of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.
  • Emily C. Snyder (Associate, Nashville) earned a law degree from William & Mary Law School (2020) and a B.A. from the Pennsylvania State University, Schreyer Honors College (2016).

The following four attorneys represent clients in complex litigation, contract disputes and business torts; they also assist clients in response to government investigations and related civil and criminal proceedings.

  • Alex Agee (Associate, Memphis) earned a law degree from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law (2020) and a B.A. from Vanderbilt University (2017).
  • Michael K. Bassham (Senior Litigation Attorney, Nashville) previously served as a consultant to healthcare companies providing assistance with the contract procurement process. Earlier in his career, Bassham was General Counsel with The Bureau of TennCare and was senior counsel at the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office. In his role at Bass, Berry & Sims, Bassham also represents clients in government enforcement and compliance actions, with a particular focus on matters involving healthcare fraud and abuse. He earned a law degree from Vanderbilt Law School (1988) and a B.A. from the University of Kansas (1985).
  • Casey R. Malloy (Associate, Nashville) earned a law degree from Vanderbilt Law School (2020) and a B.A. and a B.S. from the University of Louisville (2014). After receiving his undergraduate degree, he joined the U.S. Army where he served as scout platoon leader and assistant logistics officer at Fort Stewart, Georgia.
  • Jacquelyn Papish (Associate, Washington, D.C.) previously was an associate at Boies Schiller Flexner LLP. Prior to joining Boies Schiller Flexner, Papish clerked for the Honorable William S. Duffey, Jr. on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and was an associate in the New York office of another major law firm. She earned a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law (2015) and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin Madison (2011).
