Michael Bassham represents clients in government enforcement and compliance actions, with a particular focus on matters involving healthcare fraud and abuse. He advises companies related to compliance with the federal and state Stark Laws, Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claim Act. He works closely with providers to help them navigate the complex Medicaid requirements in relation to fraud and abuse regulations.

Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Michael served as a consultant to healthcare companies providing assistance with the contract procurement process. Earlier in his career, Michael was General Counsel with The Bureau of TennCare and was senior counsel at the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office, where he handled healthcare fraud investigations and litigation on behalf of the state.
