Michelle Chatfield counsels clients related to real estate transactions, focusing on commercial leasing matters. She regularly drafts and negotiates leases for general office and retail spaces on behalf of landlords and tenants. In addition, she represents clients on real estate acquisitions/divestitures and title and survey reviews. Michelle also works closely with the firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice Group on real estate due diligence for large corporate mergers and acquisitions.

Michelle has more than 20 years of legal experience, most recently managing her own private practice focused on commercial real estate matters for regional businesses. She also served in in-house counsel roles at two publicly traded companies. In her role at Equity Inns, Inc. she was the sole in-house counsel and provided all manner of general corporate legal affairs, advice and administration for the NYSE-traded hotel REIT. At AutoZone, Michelle was a commercial real estate attorney facilitating all real estate transactions in five states.
