Emdeon Inc. Acquires Change Healthcare

We represented Emdeon in its acquisition of Change Healthcare for $135 million which closed in November 2014. The deal also included additional contingent payments of up to $50 million based upon Change’s attainment of financial performance objectives by the end of 2017. Tennessee-based Change Healthcare was founded in 2007 and offers cost transparency and consumer engagement tools that employers and health plans can use to reduce health care spending.

Emdeon (formerly NYSE: EM) is a leading provider of revenue and payment cycle management and clinical information exchange solutions, connecting payers, providers and patients in the U.S. healthcare system.

As of December 2015, Emdeon was rebranded to Change Healthcare.
