In June 2016, AmSurg Corp. and Envision Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (Envision) announced they have signed a definitive merger agreement pursuant to which the companies will combine in an all-stock transaction. Upon completion of the merger, which is expected to be tax-free to the shareholders of both organizations, the combined company will be named Envision Healthcare Corporation and co-headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee and Greenwood Village, Colorado. The company's common stock is expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol: EVHC. Bass, Berry & Sims served as lead counsel on the transaction, led by Jim Jenkins. He has been part of the defense team for a Fortune 100 global brand in a product liability action; represented a public company in a shareholder derivative class action; and, represented numerous companies in breach of contract actions.

Working with business owners, executives and leaders of small businesses and large corporations, Jonathan's practice includes:

  • Business Disputes – Representing clients in an assortment of cases involving breach of contract actions, shareholder derivative actions, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and other commercial tort actions.
  • Products Liability & Torts – Representing pharmaceutical, medical device and other manufacturers in various product liability actions.

Prior to joining the firm, Jonathan served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Jon Phipps McCalla in the U.S. District Court, Western District of Tennessee.
