Bass, Berry & Sims managing partner Todd Rolapp authored an article in the Nashville Business Journal about the 2017 industry forecast for the business of law. In the article, Todd observes that while industry consensus suggests the business of law will not change much from 2016 to 2017, Todd sees the upcoming political changes and his recent experiences participating in the Women in Law Hackathon event and subsequent Hackathon Alliance as indication of potential change for 2017. After participating in the Women in Law Hackathon competition, Bass, Berry & Sims joined the Hackathon Alliance, a group of law firms committed to close the gender gap in law firms. As Todd points out in the article, although law firms have historically come up short in this area, he is optimistic that 2017 may see change.
The article was published in conjunction with the publication of the Nashville Business Journal’s annual list of law firms, ranked according to number of local attorneys.
