James Miller is an associate in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group where he represents clients in complex business litigation and government investigations.
James earned a law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law where he served as editor-in-chief and a staff editor of the Tennessee Law Review and as a staff editor of the Tennessee Journal of Business Law. He graduated first in his law school class and was the graduating class student speaker. During law school, James interned for the Honorable Alistair Newbern of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Following graduation, James completed a one-year clerkship for the Honorable J. Daniel Breen of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee and a one-year clerkship for the Honorable Ronald Lee Gilman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. And just before joining the firm, James served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Chip Frensley and the Honorable Eli J. Richardson both of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
James earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and a Bachelor of Science in journalism from Boston University. James is proficient in Mandarin Chinese, having spent two years teaching elementary school in Tengchong, China.
