Please join us for the first GC and Compliance Officer Forum of 2014. This forum will provide insight from inside the Beltway for general counsel and compliance officers whose businesses deal with consumer data and credit reporting. A panel of experienced counsel will walk through the life cycle of a financial services investigation and enforcement action as conducted by the Federal Trade Commission or Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The panel will include perspectives from the in-house counsel and FTC attorneys who recently negotiated the second largest civil penalty in the history of the Fair Credit Reporting Act:

  • Katherine Armstrong – Attorney, Federal Trade Commission, Division of Privacy and Identity Protection
  • Lynn V. Cravey – Senior Vice President & Associate General Counsel, Fidelity National Information Services
  • Wallace W. Dietz – Member, Bass, Berry & Sims, Financial Services Compliance & Litigation
  • David R. Esquivel – Member, Bass, Berry & Sims, Financial Services Compliance & Litigation

At lunch, Stuart Pratt, President of the Consumer Data Industry Association, will present a keynote address with the latest developments from Congress and the federal regulatory agencies on issues of consumer data and privacy. The CDIA, founded in 1906 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is an international trade association whose mission is to support companies that offer consumer information reporting services. It is the largest trade association of its kind with a membership of approximately 180 consumer credit organizations.

This forum has been approved for Tennessee CLE credit.
