Bass, Berry & Sims attorneys Betsy Knotts and Mark Mamantov will join economic development professional Mark Herbison to present at the West Tennessee Chapter of The National Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Blue Oval City Education Event on August 10th. The event will start at 10:00AM CT at the JEA Training Center in Jackson, Tennessee.
Mark Herbison’s session will discuss the background of Blue Oval City, Ford Motor Company’s nearly $6 billion dollar electric vehicle and battery manufacturing facility, and the potential economic and financial impacts related to the development. Betsy and Mark Mamantov’s session, “Tips for a Successful Property Tax Incentive Program in Your Community,” will cover the role that finance officials play in the tax increment finance (TIF) and payment in lieu of tax (PILOT) process. The program will provide attendees with 4 hours of CPE and there will be 30–45-minute lunch break in between the two presentations. Lunch will be provided.
