The 30th Annual Paul J. Hartman State & Local Tax Forum will be held October 23-25, 2023 at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee.
Bass, Berry & Sims member, Robert Guth, will join co-presenters Jon Miller (RSM) and Mayur Naik (Weaver) in a panel titled, Unleashing the Power of Automation: SALT in the Digital Era. The session will discuss the impact and use of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation in state and local tax practice. In addition, Robert will focus on “large language models” like ChatGPT, which have been making rapid improvements in their ability to instantaneously creating almost any form of written work product (from recipes and resumes to research papers and regulations) while also making headlines with their often humorous, sometimes scary, penchant for going off the rails (picking fights with users, making threats, and even declaring love). Join this panel as they cut through the tech jargon to give tax lawyers and accountants a better understanding of how these technologies work, when and why they go wrong, and how to begin incorporating them effectively and ethically into their practice.
In addition to the in-person Forum, there will be a virtual option available for all program sessions via Zoom.
