In June 2016, AmSurg Corp. and Envision Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (Envision) announced they have signed a definitive merger agreement pursuant to which the companies will combine in an all-stock transaction. Upon completion of the merger, which is expected to be tax-free to the shareholders of both organizations, the combined company will be named Envision Healthcare Corporation and co-headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee and Greenwood Village, Colorado. The company's common stock is expected to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol: EVHC. Bass, Berry & Sims served as lead counsel on the transaction, led by Jim Jenkins. Davis Mello advises clients on corporate and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions, venture transactions, private securities offerings, public company reporting obligations and corporate governance. In addition, Davis has significant experience advising clients with respect to intellectual property and technology transactions. He represents both public and private companies across a variety of industries including technology, manufacturing and healthcare.

Davis earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University where he was a John W. Wade Scholar. He earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Business Management and a B.A. in Political Science from Miami University, where he was a Harrison Scholar.

Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Davis was an associate at Harwell Howard Hyne Gabbert & Manner, P.C.
