Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Steve Jasper provided insight for a Bloomberg Tax article on the lawsuit filed by Pringles against the state of Tennessee alleging that the company is owed approximately $2.1 million in tax refunds that the state has yet to pay. The company first filed a refund claim in December 2016, but the Tennessee Department of Revenue failed to act within the state law’s sixth month requirement, so Pringles followed with the lawsuit.
“My best guess from reviewing the complaint is that the case will be dismissed at some point in the near future after a refund is granted based on the exchange of information between the parties,” Steve commented.
