Devin Lintzenich – the director of professional development & retention at Bass, Berry & Sims – co-authored an article outlining important lessons learned about the role of virtual training in professional development programs. The article was co-authored by Victoria Taylor – the professional development director at Womble Bond Dickinson LLP. Pre-pandemic, most professional development programs were focused on in-person sessions and mentoring. However, many law firms were forced to pivot to virtual formats during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the article, the authors examine the positive and negative effects of virtual training programs and provide two real-world case studies of how each firm pivoted to still provide substantive content in a remote working environment.

The full article, “Designing Professional Development Programs in the Pandemic and Beyond,” was published in May 2021 by Lex Mundi as part of the Knowledge & Learning Update series and is available online.
