Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Jim Cheek was asked to serve as an Adviser on the American Law Institute’s (ALI) Restatement of the Law, Corporate Governance project. In this prestigious role, Jim will join nearly 50 other national governance leaders to provide insight and direction as ALI updates Principles of Corporate Governance published more than 25 years ago. This area of law has significantly evolved since the prior analysis was published, so the advisers will work closely with the Reporter to read drafts and lend advice as the project progresses from early drafts to final adoption. The final product will examine the state of the law today and reflect it in the Restatement. The project will begin in 2019 and is expected to last several years.
