Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Gil Uhlhorn was quoted in an article in the Memphis Business Journal detailing some of the historic renovation in downtown Memphis. The article cites several recent redevelopment projects that involved a mixture of public, private and philanthropic financing that have helped revitalize areas of Memphis. As quoted in the article, Gil believes, “‘[t]raditional financing — just debt and equity — isn’t enough to get those projects over the hump. They’re so expensive and so complicated and so necessary in our community to bring jobs and money … that it makes sense to figure out how to make them happen.'”
