Bass, Berry & Sims attorneys Cindy Reisz and Angelique Salib authored content for the Health Care Contracts: A Clause-By-Clause Guide to Drafting and Negotiation, Second Edition published by the American Health Law Association (AHLA). In repeating their contributions to the first edition of the guidebook, Cindy and Angelique again authored the chapter “The Health Care Lawyer’s Role” that discusses the role the healthcare lawyer plays in successfully representing its client in a contract negotiation, resulting in an agreement that accurately sets out the terms of the arrangement and protects the client in the event the other party fails to perform.

The second edition of the guidebook explains key healthcare laws and regulations that must be considered when drafting contracts—and explains how to negotiate contracts that comply with those laws. It is designed not only for attorneys relatively new to reviewing, drafting, and negotiating healthcare contracts, but also for veteran negotiators looking for concise and practical insight into evolving techniques and concepts.

The Health Care Contracts: A Clause-By-Clause Guide to Drafting and Negotiation, Second Edition was released in March 2024 and is available here.
