Summary Judgment Win in FCRA Case

We obtained summary judgment on behalf of EdFinancial Services, a student loan service provider, against a Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) lawsuit filed in federal court in the Eastern District of Wisconsin. The court held as a matter of law that the plaintiff suffered no actual damages and that the company had adequate FCRA policies and procedures in place, negating any possibility of a willful violation of the FCRA. A motion to recover our client’s attorney’s fees is pending.
