We assist a Fortune 500 laboratory services company with all types of privacy and data security issues, both under HIPAA and other privacy laws, including CCPA, CPRA, VDCPA and My Health My Data Act compliance. For example, we assist in analyzing HIPAA issues relating to the provision of services and access and use of information. We also assist non-HIPAA entities in creating compliance programs and application of state and international laws. We further assist with implementing information blocking (IB) compliance policies and advising on process redesign where necessary to comply with the IB regulations. Additionally, we represent them on their compliance with the IB regulations, issued pursuant to the Cures Act, by drafting policies, evaluating existing processes for compliance, and developing processes and methods for ensuring the appropriate exchange of electronic PHI while remaining compliant with HIPAA and other privacy constraints.
