The Bass, Berry & Sims Specialty Pharmacy & Pharmaceuticals team will be attending the 2024 Asembia Specialty Pharmacy Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada, from April 28 – May 2. The summit provides a unique opportunity to meet with pharmacies, health systems, pharma/biotech manufacturers, drug wholesalers, pharmacy benefit managers, health plans, technology companies, consulting firms, and other industry stakeholders.
Representing the firm in attendance will be attorneys Mike Hess, Shannon Wiley and Jeff Davis.
Mike Hess will be speaking on a panel titled “Do we have to call Legal? Effective and Compliant Contracting between Pharmacies and Manufacturers.” The panel will cover what drug manufacturers expect of their specialty pharmacy partners, as well as key regulatory aspects of these relationships including compliance with the federal anti-kickback statute, HIPAA and other applicable laws. In addition, the speakers will address key terms and provisions and ways to balance the legitimate business interests of both parties.
Shannon Wiley will be speaking on a panel titled “The Role of Pharmacies in Remote Patient Monitoring.” During the panel, Shannon will discuss remote patient monitoring technologies, stakeholders interested in remote patient monitoring outputs, the current reimbursement and compensation landscape, and data sharing and privacy issues implicated by the use of remote patient monitoring technologies.
