Primary Care Providers Win Challenge of CMS Interpretation of Enhanced Payment Law

With the help and support of the Tennessee Medical Association, 21 Tennessee physicians of underserved communities joined together and retained Bass, Berry & Sims to file suit against the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to stop improper collection efforts. Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Jeff Gibson will present at the 19th Annual Emerging Issues in Healthcare Law Conference. Hosted by the American Bar Association Health Law section, it will cover the most emergent topics facing the healthcare bar. Jeff will speak on a session titled,"A Guide to Interacting with the DOJ and the Settlement Process in Enforcement Matters."His session will be held on Friday, February 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Session topics include:

  • Best practices when interacting with the federal government in defending enforcement actions
  • Guidance on the settlement process
  • How data analytics can help inform processes and build a robust case for the provider
