Caitlin Tarpley represents clients on a broad range of transactions involving the development, transfer, and licensing of intellectual property (IP) and technology and helps navigate issues involving IP ownership, commercialization, and protection.
She partners with clients to draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and technology agreements, including software and platform licensing and service agreements, cloud computing arrangements, SaaS agreements, technology development and services contracts, outsourcing agreements, and others. Caitlin also advises clients regarding intellectual property and technology matters in mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
Prior to rejoining Bass, Berry & Sims, where she began her career as an associate, Caitlin served as associate general counsel at ModMed, a healthcare technology company. She earned her law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law and a B.S. in environmental science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
