Nora has particular experience helping hospitals, health systems and healthcare providers navigate the complex and fast-changing U.S. immigration law landscape for medical and scientific professionals from around the globe.
Nora’s practice includes:
- Visa Management and Application – Preparing and managing nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions and related applications, including J-1 waivers for physicians related to the two-year foreign residence requirement, H-1B visas for specialty occupation professionals, O-1 visas for professionals with extraordinary ability, L-1 visas for multinational companies transferring individuals, E-2 and E-3 visas, and TN visas.
- Immigrant Petition Processes – Counseling clients through the immigrant petition processes, including Program Electronic Review Management (PERM), Schedule A filings and EB-1 petitions.
- Employment Eligibility – Advising clients on the completion of Form I-9 and the E-Verify process to confirm the identity and legal work authorization of new employees.
Nora collaborates with the firm’s labor & employment, cross-border and healthcare attorneys to ensure clients remain compliant with the complicated network of HR and legal regulations that can arise with their workforce. She also works with the firm’s corporate practice to counsel on issues that arise in the context of mergers and acquisitions or corporate restructuring.
