Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Shay was an associate with Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan, LLP. Shay earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law; a M.A. in medicine, health and society from Vanderbilt University; and a B.A. in political science and a B.A. in medicine, health and society from Vanderbilt University.
