Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Taylor Gray was awarded the W.J. Michael Cody Access to Justice Award in recognition of his pro bono work with the Memphis Area Legal Services (MALS) adoption program. In addition to providing many hours of legal support and services to MALS’ clients, Taylor has also been instrumental in establishing Bass, Berry & Sims as a Pillar Law Firm for MALS. Under Taylor’s leadership, Bass, Berry & Sims has agreed to be the first point of contact in MALS’ efforts to place pro bono cases with private attorneys, agreeing to represent MALS’ clients who need assistance with adoptions.

The prestigious W.J. Michael Cody Access to Justice Award is given each year to a lawyer in Shelby County, Tennessee, who has provided outstanding service and leadership to MALS and its clients. In selecting a recipient, MALS considers many qualities and factors, ranging from hours of service donated, complexity and/or time commitment of pro bono cases accepted, and general support for the mission of MALS.
