Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Sehrish Siddiqui was recognized by the Memphis Business Journal (MBJ) as one if its 40 Under 40 for 2022. This annual list celebrates the contributions by young professionals who work every day to make Memphis a better place – from volunteer work and board membership to other key contributions to the Memphis metro.

Sehrish is sought after by a wide variety of public companies for her counsel related to corporate finance, compliance and governance. She regularly advises clients on ESG (environmental, social and governance) disclosures and related internal processes. In 2021, Sehrish was instrumental in officially launching the firm’s ESG Advisory Practice and serves as one of the firm’s key advisors in this cutting edge and rapidly developing area of legal practice. Sehrish is an active member of her profession and community. She has been involved in a number of organizations, such as the American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Metropolitan Inter-Faith Association, Memphis Botanic Garden, Memphis Friendship Foundation, and the National Association of Muslim Lawyers. In addition to her work with these industry organizations, Sehrish is an active participant in the firm’s pro bono efforts and works with clients and within the Memphis community to eradicate the root causes of legal, social, and economic inequalities. For a number of years, she has coordinated the firm’s efforts in Memphis to host the annual “Give a Little, Help a Lot” pro bono legal clinic at the Orange Mound Senior Center. In 2021, Sehrish led the firm’s partnership with International Paper (IP),  and another Memphis law firm and local nonprofit organizations to launch IP’s Signature Pro Bono Initiative – a community-based initiative serving Tennessee’s Memphis’ underserved communities. In recognition of her countless volunteer pro bono hours, Sehrish received the prestigious W.J. Michael Cody Access to Justice Award from Memphis Area Legal Services in 2018 – an annual award given to a lawyer in Shelby County who has provided outstanding service and leadership to MALS and its clients.

MBJ will celebrate the 2022 class with a live event on May 3 at the Overton Park Shell and in the print edition on May 27.
