On October 12, Bass, Berry & Sims was recognized as the 2021 recipient of Legal Aid Society’s Pro Bono Leadership Award. Bass, Berry & Sims has partnered with Legal Aid Society for more than three decades. In 2020, 38 firm attorneys provided pro bono support to clients and one-third of those attorneys donated 10 or more hours to pro bono for Legal Aid Society. That work included support for clients with employment disability claims, eviction proceedings, and adoptions – critical legal needs after the March 2020 tornadoes and during the pandemic. Additionally, the firm’s attorneys helped staff Legal Aid Society’s free legal advice phone clinics that provided many patrons counseling and assessment of their legal options in a variety of areas.
