Mary Leigh Pirtle Discusses OSHA COVID-19 Guidelines for Protecting Employees

Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Mary Leigh Pirtle provided insight for an article in SHRM outlining the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) recommendations on how employers can protect employees from COVID-19. While in the pandemic, OSHA urges companies provide “multiple layers of protection” to best prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As Mary Leigh points out, “Employees are entitled to a workplace free of known health and safety hazards under OSHA’s general duty clause.”
