Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Mark Mamantov provided insight on how local governments can use tax increment financings (TIF) and other economic incentives to help revitalize downtowns and generally promote economic development. Mark spoke to a group of government leaders from Carter, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington counties about the benefits of TIFs and PILOTs and how the incentives have been used by other communities throughout the state of Tennessee. Mark highlighted recent projects in the Tri-Cities area that have been assisted with local property tax incentives.
