Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Leigh Walton is serving as co-chair of the recently formed Women in Mergers & Acquisitions Task Force to investigate women’s underrepresentation in the field of mergers and acquisitions. The Task Force was organized by the Mergers & Acquisitions Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA). Leigh is co-chairing the task force with Jennifer Muller, a managing director at investment bank Houlihan Lokey. Leigh served as chair of the ABA’s M&A Committee from 2009-2012.
The task force is studying law school class composition as well as numbers of M&A lawyers within firms.
The task force’s work was outlined in the article, “ABA Asking Why M&A Is Still a Man’s World: Business of Law,” that was published by Bloomberg Business on March 1.
