Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Jennifer Michael shared her career path journey in an interview on the Speaking of Health Law: Health Law Career Journeys podcast, a series released by the American Health Law Association (AHLA). Jennifer talked about her role as a healthcare regulatory lawyer and her focus on fraud and abuse and regulatory compliance, her path from accountant to lawyer and between government and private practice, and why it’s important to determine one’s own version of success.

Speaking to students considering a legal career, Jennifer advised that they define what success means to them, recognizing that the definition may change over time depending on life circumstances.

Jennifer added that it is important to be “both physically and mindfully present to build relationships because they will be important throughout your career.”
