James Bass, Sr. was profiled in the August 2016 issue of nFocus magazine as a tribute to his hard work throughout the years and in celebration of his 106th birthday this past July. Mr. Bass started practicing law in 1934 and still regularly comes to work at the firm his father helped start in 1922. Throughout his career, Mr. Bass has served as a member of the Tennessee House of Representatives and as a state senator before serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1950, he was elected second vice president of the Nashville Bar Association, a photo of which is included in the magazine. He was appointed president of the Nashville Bar the following year.
