IP STARS released the 2019 rankings and named Bass, Berry & Sims a “Highly Recognized” firm for intellectual property in Tennessee. In addition, the following four attorneys were ranked as IP Stars in 2019:

- Michael Kiklis – Patent Star (District of Columbia)
- Paige Mills – Patent Star (Tennessee)
- Janelle Waack – Patent Star (District of Columbia)
The methodology for the rankings in IP STARS is based on surveys and interviews with law firms, IP practitioners and clients/in-house counsel. The research analysts review the information and conduct independent research in order to produce the annual firm ranking tables and list of leading IP practitioners.
