Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Garrah Carter-Mason was honored with the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award by the National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division. The award was handed out during the 2026 Gertrude E. Rush Annual Women Lawyers Division Breakfast on Tuesday, July 28. The National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division aims to provide leadership, a collective voice, and essential resources to advance women in the legal profession. It focuses on advocating for equality under the law and supporting women lawyers in their careers.
Garrah is an associate in the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Group where she represents clients in complex business litigation, government investigations, criminal defense, and healthcare-related investigations. In addition to her active practice, Garrah devotes significant time to pro bono matters and recently co-lead a team from Bass, Berry & Sims and Choosing Justice Initiative to secure a rare retrial and subsequent not guilty verdict for Darrell Davis, an individual who had been incarcerated for almost nine years for a crime he did not commit and was serving a life without the possibility of parole sentence.
