On Wednesday, April 23, the shareholders of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store met and voted against activist investor Sardar Biglari’s proposal for the company to sell itself. This attempt was the latest effort by Biglari, including his previous loss of three proxy contests to elect directors in 2011, 2012 and 2013. The special shareholder meeting was held at the Washington, D.C. office of Bass, Berry & Sims. The meeting recap was detailed by The Deal in a April 23 article.
