Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Clint Hermes discussed the impact of COVID-19 on clinical trials and drug research in an article for MedCity News. As hospitals reach max capacity treating patients with COVID-19, many clinical trial operations are ceasing in order to protect trial participants and free space in the hospitals to treat sick patients.
“You’ve seen that in the New York area, Washington and Boston – hospitals have wound down trials, unless it’s stuff related to Covid-19 or stuff they couldn’t stop doing,” Clint said.
