Nashville, Tenn., (January 24, 2017) – Bass, Berry & Sims PLC is pleased to announce that John S. Golwen has been appointed to serve as the managing partner of the firm’s 51-person Memphis office. Golwen succeeds Richard R. Spore as managing partner, who served in the position for three years.
In a career spanning more than 25 years, Golwen has represented a variety of businesses and company executives in all types of business litigation and related disputes. Throughout his career, he has tried numerous cases in courts and arbitration tribunals around the country and he has argued many cases in front of the appellate courts in Tennessee and in federal courts of appeals. Golwen also is a certified Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Mediator and regularly serves as a mediator in commercial litigation cases. Golwen earned his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law (1990) and a B.A. from the College of William and Mary (1986).
