At Bass, Berry & Sims, we join organizations around the globe in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15. We embrace the rich tapestry of Hispanic and Latinx cultures and honor the profound contributions and enduring legacies of Hispanic and Latinx individuals, communities, and traditions.
During this heritage month, we would like to highlight associate Liat Sanz Martinez. Liat joined the firm in 2022 and is part of Bass, Berry & Sims’ Hispanic/Latin American Affinity Group.

Intellectual Property (IP) – I help clients develop and protect their IP assets, with an emphasis on trademark law and brand development and protection.
What did you do before law school?
Before law school, I worked as an assistant property manager at an apartment complex affiliated with the University of Florida.
What is your cultural background?
I am Puerto Rican and Cuban. I was born in Puerto Rico and my mother’s side of the family is Puerto Rican while my father’s side is Cuban.
