Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Travis Lloyd will present at the Nashville Council of Health Care Attorneys’ upcoming meeting in a presentation titled, “Provider-Based Status Under the Microscope: Preparing for Mandatory Attestations, Navigating Compliance Risks, and Avoiding Enforcement Pitfalls.”
Recent changes have put Medicare provider-based status under the microscope. Beginning January 1, 2028, Medicare will deny payment for services furnished at off-campus hospital outpatient departments that have not submitted a provider-based attestation and obtained a separate NPI—a fundamental shift from the prior voluntary attestation framework. Travis will examine the most common pitfalls that hospitals are likely to encounter as they assess their compliance efforts and prepare their attestations.
This event will be held on Thursday, April 23, at 9:00 a.m. at the Community Health Systems office in Franklin, Tennessee. This event is approved for 1 hour of General CLE credit.
