Bass, Berry & Sims attorneys Dawn Perez-Slavinski and Julia Tamulis will present at a Nashville Council of Health Care Attorneys event on the topic “How an Effective Compliance Program Can Save Your Organization.”

Developing and maintaining an effective corporate compliance program is essential for any healthcare organization operating in today’s highly complex, constantly evolving regulatory environment. With this in mind, Dawn and Julia will examine the following topics of interest to in-house and outside counsel in the healthcare industry:

  • Current healthcare enforcement climate and trends.
  • Strategies for building a compliance program that includes all seven essential elements of an effective compliance program and is appropriately tailored to the company’s size, mission, and resources.
  • How to effectively handle internal investigations of potential compliance issues, including privilege considerations that may arise.
  • Avenues for resolving an organization’s potential liabilities for compliance problems, including how, when, and where to self-disclose to the government.

The event will be held on Friday, February 7 at Community Health Systems in Nashville, Tennessee.
