Summer Associate Class Size/Offers for Permanent Employment

Our summer associate hiring is a strategic priority for the firm, and associates hired from our summer class represent a significant portion of our associate classes hired each year. By looking at past trends, we are able to determine our future hiring needs and satisfy much of our demand from the summer program.

Summer Associate Program Events/Opportunities

Summer associates have numerous opportunities to meet all of our attorneys and to be introduced to our firm through training and mentoring, work assignments and various activities that are planned throughout the program.

  • Experiential Learning Opportunities – Our summer associate program offers several professional development trainings and workshops to facilitate learning about each practice area. Our workshops are led by members and associates and provide hands-on projects for summer associates in each major firm practice area. Summer associates have the opportunity to select work that aligns with their career goals and interests.
  • Mentorship Teams – Each summer associate is assigned to a mentor team comprised of member and associate mentors, as well as peer mentors within the summer associate program. Mentor teams serve as guides for the program and primary resources for work projects, training and social engagement for each summer associate.
  • Social Events – During the summer, our firm sponsors a variety of social events to help the summer associates become better acquainted with the attorneys and the local area. Past activities have included receptions and dinners at local venues and attorneys’ homes, cultural performances/exhibits, and sporting events. We also have a number of informal lunches and dinners designed to allow our summer associates to spend time with our attorneys in a small, more casual atmosphere.
