Lateral Attorneys

At Bass, Berry & Sims, fostering attorney development and integration within our firm is a priority. When it comes to seeking attorneys for open positions, we look for candidates with first-rate backgrounds both academically and professionally as well as exceptional interpersonal skills. We also aim to cultivate the growth of each individual who becomes part of our firm and endeavor to meet both the goals of each attorney and the needs of our clients.

Over the past few years, our attorney classes have grown dramatically from both the summer associate program and experienced attorney hiring, and our firm has grown to more than 200 attorneys in our Nashville, Knoxville, Memphis and Washington, D.C. offices. As we look forward to expanding our practice even further, we seek attorneys who can meet the challenge of developing our firm's community through a team-oriented approach.

The experienced attorneys who join our firm contribute greatly to our dynamic practice and to our ability to meet the diverse needs of our firm's clients. Depending on the needs of our practice areas, we are able to offer several options to attorneys joining from outside of our firm: lateral moves, reduced work schedules and staff or contract positions.
