Marc Rigsby is a Member in the firm’s healthcare practice group, focusing his practice on healthcare transactions. He has particularly deep experience advising private equity and other investors in forming and scaling physician and dental practice management platforms, including through acquisitions, and leverages his healthcare background to navigate complex regulatory issues and compliance risks. Marc works alongside platforms supporting the medical specialties of ophthalmology, oncology, orthopedics, primary care, urgent care and fertility, among others.
Marc likewise handles buy-side and sell-side transactions and joint ventures for a range of other healthcare providers, including ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic imaging centers, clinical research organizations, home health and hospice agencies, and behavioral health facilities.
Marc contributed to authoring the practitioners’ guide on state law prohibitions on the corporate practice of medicine and fee splitting statutes, “What is…the Corporate Practice of Medicine and Fee-Splitting?,” published by the American Bar Association (ABA), and has been recognized as a Rising Star by the Mid-South Super Lawyers magazine.
One of the highlights and biggest honors of Marc’s legal career was getting the opportunity to interview U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas while attending Wake Forest University School of Law for the school’s “A Conversation with . . .” series (video linked here) back in 2012.
