Gunnar Jurgensen provides regulatory and transactional counsel to clients across the healthcare industry. His practice includes:
- Strategic Transactions – Counseling clients through regulatory diligence related to mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and joint ventures.
- Contracting, Regulatory & Operational Matters –Advising on healthcare compliance, regulatory and operations such as reimbursement, fraud and abuse, and risk management issues; assisting with external and internal evaluations and investigations
In addition, Gunnar has experience working with clients on compliance under the Medicare and Medicaid rules, CMS standards, and other federal and state regulations.
Gunnar is a Certified Medical Compliance Officer (CMCO) and also a Certified Professional Coder – Apprentice (CPC-A). Prior to joining Bass, Berry & Sims, Gunnar was a healthcare associate at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in its Nashville office. He earned a law degree from William & Mary Law School and an undergraduate degree in political science from Binghamton University, State University of New York.
