Anna Gernert Carr is the Managing Director for the Commercial Real Estate, Debt Finance and Public Finance Practice Groups. In this role, she works closely with the practice chairs on overall practice group management with a focus on client service, growth and business development strategy, and attorney development and retention.

Prior to rejoining Bass, Berry & Sims, Anna served as Senior Account Executive at SimplyAgree, where she worked with law firms nationwide to utilize technology to increase efficiency in the deal closing process. Anna led the company’s sales efforts and worked closely with the CEO & Chief Product Officer on growth strategy and goals. Anna also previously held various business development and leadership roles at Latitude, a provider of sophisticated flexible legal talent solutions to law firms and in-house legal departments.

Anna began her legal career as an associate at Bass, Berry & Sims where she counseled public and private companies related to the commercial lending and real estate aspects of major transactions. She earned her law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law with High Honors where she served as articles editor for the Tennessee Law Review. She received a B.B.A. in risk management and insurance with a minor in Spanish from the University of Georgia.
