Bass, Berry & Sims attorney Travis Lloyd discussed his experience representing hospitals and health systems and how the field has changed over the years on a recent episode of the Speaking of Health Law podcast presented by the American Health Law Association (AHLA). Travis served as co-editor of AHLA’s recently revamped Representing Hospitals and Health Systems Handbook, and was joined on the podcast by his co-editors, Emily Black Grey and Claire M. Turcotte.
Travis has worked with hospitals and health systems for more than 15 years in a wide variety of contexts, from major transactions to government investigations. In speaking about his practice, Travis highlighted the “increased specialization” expected of those who represent hospitals and health systems, as well as the importance of minding traditional risk areas, like compliance with the healthcare fraud and abuse laws.
